Project Summary

The Code Official Digitalization and Efficiency Support (CODES) initiative is a collaborative effort spearheaded by the International Code Council (ICC) and partner organizations that sought to digitalize building code enforcement. The project specifically targeted small municipalities with limited resources to help them shift from traditional paper-based processes to electronic systems. By gathering feedback from various stakeholders, CODES team worked to identify obstacles that prevent successful implementation and develops educational materials and training programs to build capacity among code enforcement personnel.
