Associate Technical Consultant - Building Performance Analysis

Resource Refocus LLC is looking for an analyst with experience in building performance modeling and a background in building science to join our team on a full time or part time basis.

Essential Skills

A background in building science or engineering and experience with building performance analyses for residential, multifamily, and/or commercial buildings

  • Competency and experience with tools used for modeling and analysis

  • Familiarity with building energy codes

  • Familiarity with electrification / decarbonization / grid harmonization measures and analyses

  • Strong project management and communication skills, and excellent technical writing skills including demonstrated ability to write and review reports or technical papers

  • Ability to work with a remote team, including proactive project planning and team communication about priorities, needs, and timelines

Bonus Skills

  • Expertise in resilience and adaptation strategies

  • Experience modeling extreme weather events

  • Energy modeling expertise

    • EnergyPlus, BEopt, OpenStudio

      • Working with prototypes on parametric and large scale studies

      • Building-level EEMs related to mechanical HVAC, electrification measures

  • Regression-based modeling

  • Data analysis and visualizations

    • Excel, R, Python, etc.

  • Experience with code compliance modeling

  • Familiarity with IPMVP protocols

  • Familiarity with statistical analyses and sample design

  • Involvement in relevant professional organizations

Compensation & Benefits

Full time salary range: $64k - $84k, commensurate with candidate experience and work location.

Staff members who consistently work at least half time are eligible for benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance. All staff members are eligible for the 401k with employer matching and flexible work schedule options.
